About Sailor Mars

Sailor Mars, also known as Rei Hino, is the guardian of fire and passion. She is the second Sailor Guardian to join Sailor Moon's team. As a Shinto priestess, Rei possesses spiritual powers even in her civilian form.

Rei has a strong, independent personality and is often portrayed as serious and focused. She attends an all-girls Catholic school and lives with her grandfather at the Hikawa Shrine, where she works as a miko (shrine maiden).

Role in the Series

As one of the Inner Senshi, Sailor Mars is a key member of Sailor Moon's team. Her spiritual powers often help the group detect enemies and understand supernatural threats. She is fiercely protective of her friends and is often the first to sense danger.

In the original anime, Rei has a somewhat antagonistic relationship with Usagi, often teasing her about her clumsiness and laziness. However, this rivalry masks a deep friendship and loyalty. In the manga, she is more serious and dedicated to her role as a guardian.

Character Growth

Throughout the series, Rei grows from being somewhat aloof and independent to understanding the importance of friendship and teamwork. While she maintains her strong personality, she learns to open up to others and show her caring side more freely.
