Sailor Saturn, also known as Hotaru Tomoe, is one of the Outer Senshi in the Sailor Moon series. She is the Guardian of Silence and possesses the power of destruction and rebirth.

Her civilian identity is that of a sickly girl who was possessed by Mistress 9. After being freed, she awakened as Sailor Saturn and used her powers to help defeat Pharaoh 90.

Role in the Series

Sailor Saturn first appeared in the Infinity arc (Sailor Moon S in the anime). She was initially portrayed as a threat that the other Outer Senshi wanted to prevent from awakening. This was because her awakening was thought to bring about the destruction of the world.

However, after awakening, she used her powers to help defeat Pharaoh 90, sacrificing herself in the process. She was later reborn as a baby and eventually grew up rapidly to join the other Sailor Guardians in later story arcs.
